Can parrots throat sing?

Postby peterofthecorn » Wed Jul 28, 2010 2:25 am

I've been looking up videos of singing parrots, like this one:

Ever since I saw one of these parrots, I've wanted to get one and try to teach it to throat sing. Wouldn't that be the coolest thing, to have a throat-singing parrot? And it would give me an excuse to practice and play throat singing recordings when I want to.

That is so weird!

I've been thinking about how birds make sound recently whenever I hone my Sygyt, trying to shift the balance of volume from voice to resonance, but THIS takes the cake...

Thanks for the laugh buddy. I do take this serious, but I wouldn't want to spend the time and resources on this... if you have the time, I'm sure it would be a cool experience for the two of you.

I was once told that crows and blackbirds can get surgery to split their tongue and after it heals they may learn to talk like parrots can. Not sure why that is though... :eh?:

I laughed too  It would be great to have a TS parrot, singing with this rooster:
